Completely redesigned last year, the 2003 ES 300's only change is the addition of power-adjustable pedals.

Pros:
  • Comprehensive array of luxury and convenience features, superb ride quality, smooth and silent V6, advanced safety technology, excellent reputation for reliability.
Cons:
  • Bland driving characteristics, less powerful than most competitors, many of the desired features and options are expensive, no split-folding rear seat.

  • Excellent car - 2003 Lexus ES 300

My first luxury car purchase, used of course so someone else can take the depreciation hit, and I dont think I can ever go back to another less comfortable car. It is very quiet with an incredibly smooth ride. The cabin is classy, with high grade leather and wood grain accents. The steering and handling can best be described as silky. Keep in mind this is a luxury car, not a sports sedan, so it doesnt drive like a sports sedan. Highway mileage is 28 to 32 mpg, depending on speed and head wind. I had some warranty work done, (catalytic converters btw) and was VERY impressed by the Lexus dealers service. 83,000 miles and appears as good as new. I will definitely look into a Lexus again.

Looked at the Cadillac CTS and the Infiniti G35. Picked the Lexus based on reputation and front wheel drive (Chicago Winters) although the Cadillac and G35 were sportier. I have a 62 mile daily commute and enjoy the ride. Heated seats are a nice touch on the cold winter days.

Smooth, beautiful interior, reliable, extremely quiet. Best looking entry level luxury. Wish it used regular not premium fuel. Brakes are good, handling sufficient - no problems and dealership has been very professional. Liked it better than the Acura TL Type S and the G35. BMW 3 series too small and pricey.

  • Best car I ever owned - 2003 Lexus ES 300

Those people who say they want more power are pretty stupid They should be driving a Infiniti G35. Everyone needs to know; This is a luxury car folks!, not a race car! I drove every car in the luxury class and this is absolutley the best car I drove for the price. The ES 300 is awesome!! Drove to Vegas and it was like sitting in my family room chair.

This is the best car I ever bought. It provides a higher level of comfort than most of its competitors for a fraction of the price. This an extremely refined car

  • Best car Ive ever owned - 2003 Lexus ES 300

You have to understand the Lexus ES300 is the first non-American car Ive ever purchased, so I may not be the best judge. Nonetheless, it is clearly the best car I have ever owned. I traded in a Buick I thought I loved and have never regretted it. I also test drove a Mercedes, a BMW, an Acura, a Cadillac CS and a Lincoln LS. In the end I still bought the Lexus. The ONLY thing I can say that the others had over the Lexus is exterior design. The Mercedes and BMW are "classier looking and the Cadillac is just more interesting looking.

  • Great car to own! - 2003 Lexus ES 300

I have owned this car for 1 year and 10 months-not one thing has gone wrong with it. Excellent service at the dealership! Very comfortable to drive! Pleasure to own!

  • 2 Months and still smilen - 2003 Lexus ES 300

Tradded in my 99 Caddy on this 03 ES and am really happy with the car. I get home from work and the car will not turn down my street, have to go around the block a few times.

  • Great car... If you want comfort - 2003 Lexus ES 300
    By -

Had this car for only about 2-3 months, but has served me perfectly. Was deciding between the Acura 3.2 TL and the Infiniti G35, but ended up choosing the Lexus because of its superior comfort, sound, reliability, and resale value. I got the DVD-Based navigation system with the Mark Levinson audio package. The Audio package is really worth it for the audiophiles, and the DVD navigation system is a great bonus. Acceleration is slow, and handling is good but nothings spectacular. If you want the best in reliability, comfort and convience, get this car, but if you desire a more exciting car... go for Acura or the Infiniti. P.S. EVO 8s out woooooooooooot!
